    Shihab Ahmmed:

The BNP-Jamaat government made a list f voters containing 12.3 million fake voters to regain power through the elections held on January 22, 2007. Even Khaleda Zia’s adviser and BNP leader Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury also became a voter in two places. He was listed to vote from Chittagong-4 Fatikchari and Chittagong-7 Rangunia constituencies. After the information of him being a dual voter got leaked, Election Commission officials termed the incident fraudulent and illegal.

A report in Prothom Alo newspaper on January 11, 2007, published this information. The Election Commissioners said that a person might participate as a candidate from a maximum of five constituencies. But he can only be a voter of either of the five constituencies. A person cannot be a voter in more than one constituency. It is constitutionally illegal. It is a form of cheating.

This is how BNP-Jamaat activists became voters in multiple places and forged a voter list with 12.3 million fake names and identities. Because they had planned to take BNP to power illegally by casting these votes through party cadres. This is the reason they appointed President Iajuddin Ahmed as Chief Advisor which was unconstitutional. After that, according to the list of Khaleda Zia and Tariq Rahman, party-supported officials were appointed to conduct the election.
